Football

The “Heavy Hitters” Youth Football Program provides an opportunity for youth residents living in OHA public housing developments to participate on a football team and on cheerleading squads that plays in the Heartland of America Football League.   It is the goal of the football program to recruit youths off the street and instill in them an understanding that they are in control of their own lives.   The team is coached entirely by volunteers, the majority of whom are OHA staff volunteering their time.
