Education

Hand in hand with the Omaha Housing Authoritys mission to provide affordable housing, is its commitment to helping residents on the path towards self-sufficiency. Through community partnerships, we offer services that work to increase the employability skills and educational attainment of our residents. We firmly believe that these increased opportunities will assist in removing barriers and help residents achieve their goals.

Faced with the challenge of limited federal resources, the Omaha Housing Authority works to find creative solutions to make assistance available in areas such as: education, computer training, homeownership, employment opportunities and job training.

The Omaha Housing Authority partners with various community agencies to offer a variety of programs and classes, such as:

  • General Education and Diploma (GED)
  • English as a Second Language (ESL)
  • Basic, Advanced and Senior-focused Computer Training
  • OHA Certificate Program
  • Homeownership Education Program
  • Resident Employment
  • OHA Foundation Scholarship Program

Many of these programs are offered on-site and at no additional cost to residents.
