American Classifieds the largest free classified newspaper in the United States. They allow the Omaha Housing Authority to place ads pertaining job fairs and upcoming events in their newspapers.
The Boys Scouts of America provides youth programming that focuses on character development and value based leadership training through Cub Scouting (ages 7- 10) and Boy Scouting (ages 11- 17). The Mission of the Boys Scouts is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The Omaha Housing Authority has developed two troops as a result of this partnership.
Boys and Girls Club of Omaha has provided an essential partnership to the Omaha Housing Authority’s resident youth. The Boys and Girls Club has taught resident youth a sense of competence, usefulness and influence by providing an environment that enhances character development and hope. By teaching participatory recreation and education to resident youth, the Boys and Girls Club empowered youth to succeed and dream.
The focus of the Soul School Music Workshop is multifaceted. The workshop was held in conjunction with Annual Omaha Riverfront Jazz & Blues Festival and the workshop is free to resident youth. The workshop provided many benefits for OHA resident youth. It was structured in a group classroom instruction-taught by local and national artists.
Creighton University Education Opportunity Center for Adult Learners (EOCAL) is a comprehensive program that works with adults (19 or older) who want to enter or continue in a program of post-secondary education. Their services include: Drop in GED classes, Adult Basic Education, Financial Aid Assistance, and College Prep Assistance, Career Workshops, Speakers, College Tours and Career Assessment.
Girls Incorporated summer programming was designed to empower girls ages 6-18 years of age with life skills, self respect, and the value of education. They received an opportunity to participate in arts and crafts, sports, science and math.

The John Beasley Theater provides acting classes for residents, which are held at LaFern Williams Center.
The Omaha Lady Royals Softball team was designed to inspire 8-14 year old resident girls the value of teamwork, self-esteem, and discipline. In addition the softball program provided supervised activities, practices and games with intentions providing them with basic skills, knowledge and fundamentals of the game of softball.
The Loves Jazz and Arts Center partnered with the Omaha Housing Authority to showcase it first exhibition of photographic images, texts and artifacts. The youth also helped brainstorm ideas for future educational programs and events that would help expand the Loves Center’s mission, to increase awareness and understanding of Omaha music and art in American history.
Metropolitan Community College is a full-service community college that provides high quality educational programs and services primarily in career preparation and general education to diverse ethnicities and educational backgrounds.
Nebraska Workforce Development provides job training programs along with various partners, working together to provide training and opportunities to Nebraskans.
This computer lab addresses the digital divide in an underserved metropolitan Omaha neighborhood. Friends R Us Network is a computer-related and network consulting business that has committed itself to increasing low-income persons access to technology. The Omaha Housing Authority and Friends R Us Network work together to improve employment opportunities for public housing residents by providing training or microcomputer technology.
The Omaha Housing Authority formed a partnership with the Omaha Public Schools (OPS). The Housing Authority discovered there were alarming numbers of teenagers who had dropped out of school. The first order of business was to return these youngsters to the classroom. OPS officials devised a method to return them to the school system with a minimum of red tape.
Omaha Small Business Network, Inc. is a premier source for small business development in Nebraska who staff provides services in the areas of accounting, finance, and management. The programs and services they offer include: Business Technology Center- based on an interactive learning approach geared to teach the functional areas of business such as bookkeeping, financial planning, marketing, and information technology.

Weed & Seed is a strategy designed locally to bring law enforcement and community initiatives together to revitalize neighborhoods in high crime urban areas. The slogan behind Weed & Seed is to first “weed” out criminal activity from our community and to “seed” neighborhood programs which provide economic and social opportunities.
The Omaha Housing Authority/YMCA’S Kids Café provides breakfast, snacks, and lunches to resident youth. The program is set up to present resident youth with nourishment, a balance diet and a healthy understanding of the foods they eat.
The YouthBuild Program selects young adults, ages 16 – 24, drop out, low income, unemployed/underemployed to assist them in obtaining their GED, give them training in the building trades and they receive hands-on experience building Habitat for Humanity Housing for a year. They also receive leadership training.
