Mission



To provide opportunities for families assisted by the Omaha Housing Authority by way of providing exposure to educational, cultural and athletic activities enriching the lives of individuals and families in order to build strong families, meaningful futures and better communities.

The Omaha Housing Authority (OHA) is the state"s largest provider of affordable housing and manages over 2,600 units of public housing with a population of 5,048 residents and administers approximately 4,500 Section 8 living units with a population of 11,975 residents.

There are over 8,700 children between the ages of 0-17 which make up 52% of all OHA residents. Your contribution allows OHA to collaborate with community partners in order to offer a variety of educational, cultural, recreational activities and programs such as:

  • Home Ownership Closing Cost Assistance
  • Scholarship Opportunities
  • OHA Baseball, Football, Basketball Programs
  • Lady Royals Softball
  • Loves Jazz and Art Center
The OHA Foundation is essential to the advancement and well being of hard-working low-income families.

Why Give and Who Benefits?



The most common ways of giving tax deductible gifts to the Omaha Housing Authority Foundation include:
  • Cash gifts
  • In-kind Gift Contributions (offering in-kind services and/or programs for OHA residents)
  • Designations (contributions to United Way can be designated for the OHA Foundation)
The OHA Foundation is committed to building a "foundation of success" for low-income families. Your support of the OHA Foundation helps to make this happen.
